Our Story
It started with a patient...
When Alexander Saint-Amand’s mother got sick, there was no conclusive diagnosis for her illness, so he sought multiple opinions from experts in the field. Inspired by this challenge, he founded and built GLG, originally a platform for sourcing medical opinions.
GLG grew and evolved into the world’s foremost research network, with more than 200,000 physicians and scientists. Over his tenure leading the company, GLG received thousands of queries from patients, loved ones, and caregivers seeking insight on treatment options and, in particular, clinical trials. Alexander was struck by how difficult it was for patients to access clinical trials and the lack of physician participation.
In 2020, he partnered with Mac Parish and Andrew Kirchner, and Topography was borne to solve this problem. Topography is focused on transforming the physician experience in research as the way to radically unlock patient access.
